The Things I do for a Picture

As a mom I love pretending I am a professional photographer and taking adorable pictures of my kids but sometimes I wonder if I take it too far.

The Photographer’s Wife took the most adorable picture of their son for Halloween and I had to do the same.

This is what I wanted:

This is what I got:

Baby Hates Pumpkin

The things I do for a picture. Am I a horrible mom?

  1. I’m sorry Melanie I’m laughing as hard as I am at Dean’s look on his face. That def has to go into the “nailed it” file :D

  2. Oh goodness.. I can’t stop laughing! That is awesome. I totally do the same type of stuff with my son. I’m *sure* they will look back and laugh one day, right?

  3. On the contrary, I think that’s a great picture. Once that’s too hilarious not to hang. That’s great! Don’t feel too bad, that’s how most of my brilliant ideas end up. 8-)

    • I still wet myself every time I come back here – and I have come back a few times just for a chuckle. I’m featuring this post on the sunday Parenting Party this week. You can grab an I was featured button from my button page if you’d like one.

      • Thanks everyone for sharing your stories. I’m glad you all got a good laugh. It made me feel a little better about the torture I put my son through knowing that he made people’s days. Oh, and Monko I’ll definitely grab a button!

  5. Oh the same thing would happen to me if I tried it. So cute!! I think you have to leave him there and get him use to it first. Thank you for sharing at Happy Family Times!

  7. Isn’t pumpkin supposed to be good for your skin? I have this image of your son telling his wife 30 years from now: “It all started with a pumpkin, see, and I…” Actually, he’ll probably never remember, except he’ll look at that photo and hopefully see how you wanted to make his childhood nice for him. With a pumpkin. It’s the thought that counts…I give you credit for trying! My 2nd and third kids didn’t get half as many photos as my first!

  8. Bwahhhhh hahahahahaha!!! That is so my life! This photo is priceless. Especially when paired with the first. Thank you so much for sharing!!!

  9. This is so funny. I must admit I have done some equally distressing things to my son when was a baby just for a picture! And I think we all try to pretend we’re a great photographer at least once or twice. Luckily I don’t have to often because my BFF is an amazing photographer!
