As a mom I love pretending I am a professional photographer and taking adorable pictures of my kids but sometimes I wonder if I take it too far.
The Photographer’s Wife took the most adorable picture of their son for Halloween and I had to do the same.
This is what I wanted:
This is what I got:
The things I do for a picture. Am I a horrible mom?

I’m sorry Melanie I’m laughing as hard as I am at Dean’s look on his face. That def has to go into the “nailed it” file
I almost bust my stitches! I’m laughing so hard.
This is the funniest thing I’ve ever seen. I laughed so hard that I almost scared my baby son awake. Lol.
Yes, you’d be a terrible mom if it weren’t so freaking funny! OMG! I can’t stop laughing!
If he grows up with a phobia of pumpkins, at least you’ll know why!
That’s AWESOME!! My fear was that mine would turn out that way, too, so I never tried!
Definitely created a memory there
Oh my gosh!!! My pop just went up through my nose as I saw that. So funny! When I’m down in the dumps, I’ll come back here just to see that.
Too funny! I love it!
LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this! Thanks for sharing one of the many real mama moments we all deal with!
I’m glad I’m not the only one with those kind of “special” pictures!
Thank you! That made my day!
I love it! Thank you for sharing. I actually saw a similar picture on Pinterest and wanted to try it with my daughter, but at the last minute I was sure she would freak out at the cold, squishy inside of the pumpkin. At least you tried!
I thought he’d freak out too. I even emailed the photographer to get pointers and even putting a blanket inside the pumpkin didn’t help!
Oh goodness.. I can’t stop laughing! That is awesome. I totally do the same type of stuff with my son. I’m *sure* they will look back and laugh one day, right?
HAHAHAHAHA, okay I am sorry, but I totally busted out laughing! Not because I think the picture quality sucks but that picture is just HILARIOUS! So cute!
On the contrary, I think that’s a great picture. Once that’s too hilarious not to hang. That’s great! Don’t feel too bad, that’s how most of my brilliant ideas end up.
OMG I am crying with laughter, literally crying. That is the funniest post ever
I still wet myself every time I come back here – and I have come back a few times just for a chuckle. I’m featuring this post on the sunday Parenting Party this week. You can grab an I was featured button from my button page if you’d like one.
Thanks everyone for sharing your stories. I’m glad you all got a good laugh. It made me feel a little better about the torture I put my son through knowing that he made people’s days. Oh, and Monko I’ll definitely grab a button!
I had a similar experience recently with my three. Why can’t they cooperate!!! lol

Hehe, poor little guy, but that is too funny! I’m always amazed at baby photos. Some of the poses they are put in are astounding and I wonder how they got the babies to do them. I guess it’s even harder than it looks! Happy SITS day

That picture is so adorable! At least you get a reaction. My daughter always has this stoic, bored look on her face when we try to take her picture.

Isn’t pumpkin supposed to be good for your skin? I have this image of your son telling his wife 30 years from now: “It all started with a pumpkin, see, and I…” Actually, he’ll probably never remember, except he’ll look at that photo and hopefully see how you wanted to make his childhood nice for him. With a pumpkin. It’s the thought that counts…I give you credit for trying! My 2nd and third kids didn’t get half as many photos as my first!

This is so funny. I must admit I have done some equally distressing things to my son when was a baby just for a picture! And I think we all try to pretend we’re a great photographer at least once or twice. Luckily I don’t have to often because my BFF is an amazing photographer!

This is a great post! I love the look on your little one’s face…you can tell he was not enjoying the feeling of being inside a pumpkin. I bet those photographers have tricks they don’t share to get the shots they get…I still think your pic is so cute…even though I’m sure your son doesn’t think so! Happy SITS day!
