We had a great snow storm this last week and I thought it would be fun to make our own snow cones. First we set out cups and waited for them to fill up with snow. This really didn’t take long since we got A LOT of snow. But we also went back for seconds and just scooped up the freshly fallen snow.
I know they sell snow cone syrup, but I didn’t have any and I didn’t want to buy any, so I made up some Crystal Light, but I’m sure any juice would do. Then I used a medicine dispenser and let my boys drizzle it over their snow cones. They really liked making them and eating them.
Next time I’ll have to try different colors of juice. That’ll be fun!

This looks like so much fun. I’ve been bummed that it doesn’t seem we are going to get snow this year. I would totally do this with my kids. Great work!
Fun! I had a Snoopy snow cone maker as a kid…I would have loved doing this.

Cool idea. We used to live in NH where we would totally have enough snow, but now in VA we don’t seem to get any.
Love that it is nice and fresh. Stopping by from SITS Sharefest

Someone else mentioned snow cream and we had never heard of it. How do you make it?
What a great idea & you had so much lovely fluffy snow. Thanks so much for adding this to the outdoor play link up this week too.

That would problem be better then real snow cones because they would be much softer to eat! Thanks for linking up to Mom’s Library!

Yep. And we just used juice which is better than the sugar syrup they usually come with.
What a fun idea! If we had snow here, we would definitely give that a try!
Thank you for linking up to the Outdoor Play Party!
